Backstrap loom cotton weaving has great importance as a cultural expression of the Boruca people.
They traditionally use hand spun cotton, which is colored with natural dyes. It's worth mentioning tocolate natural brown cotton and Murice, a winkle found on the Pacific coast and from which a violet dye is extracted.
They are made from the leaves of a fibrous plant from which threads are extracted to make useful objects. In the town of El Guarco in Cartago we can find cabuya weaving.A classic in Costa Rican crafts.
